This is a quick and clear representation of what we believe to be true about Marriage and government's role in it. I continue to read about this debate as election day approaches. I hope that those who do not yet understand what the Marriage Amendment in MN and in other states is about, that they take a few minutes to at least understand us and why we are voting YES to protect the promotion of Natural Marriage between one man and one woman.

Soul Building with your Personal Trainer
I read that when you have days that you feel like your "cross" in life feels to heavy... don't pray that it be taken from you, pray that you are given a stronger back. In pondering this, I asked in prayer whether God is my personal trainer adding a little more weight to my cross making me stronger - or am I feeling Satan pushing on my wound, hoping I'll drop my cross and give up? Perhaps both?

Women's Stages of Life
When you're single you lead the way, you find new places to sit, and drink with friends.
When you're married, you find your way together, he lets you sit on his lap, and you toast to happy days ahead.
When you're pregnant, everyone is willing to move out of the way, give you their seat, and bring you a drink.
When you have a few kids,...

Quote of the Day
“Give us grace and strength to forbear and to persevere. Give us courage and gaiety, and the quiet mind. Spare to us our friends, soften to us our enemies. Bless us, if it may be, in all our innocent endeavours. If it may not, give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.” ― Robert Louis Stevenson Sounds a lot like the Serenity Prayer, but very thought out indeed....

Chick-fil-A Chatter
Finally, a fast food restaurant I want to support! *Closed on Sundays so workers can be with their faith community and family. *Funding Christian, Family and Pro-Marriage groups. *Working to serve healthy meals to kids. Chick-fil-A's Contributions to ProMarriage and ProFamily Groups Chick-fil-A Owner says "Guilty as Charged!" Playing Chicken with free speech: an intolerant boycott People say how dare we stop buying General Mills, Kraft, Nabisco or Starbucks products. "If the boycott works it will only affect the workers in layoffs." That minority is backed by...

Our Culture - The Perfect Storm
I've been humbly taking part of defending marriage and life. My mind has been bubbling with things I want to say to anyone who will hear or read it. Last Sunday Father Dufner said it all so eloquently I had to share his incredible Homily with all of you. Please take the time to listen and share it.

Pondering Getting a Clothesline
I've been thinking about doing some more "natural" living. More home made foods (thanks to food processing companies deciding to support immoral behaviors), and a general desire for healthy eating. Sewing my son a few pairs of washable training pants instead of using 1000 some pullups. Among other things. One of those was pondering putting up a clothesline. Here's what I drew while wondering if it would help us out… I'm no so sure my subconscious likes the idea. What do you use your clothesline for? Is it worth it?...

Why Gay Marriage Cannot Be
I am most impressed with this report, as it speaks to my thoughts more clearly that I can put it.
Marriage:
1 MAN AND 1 WOMAN - Two becoming one, in a giving and loving relationship open to the creation of new life. Joined together by a Sacrament in the eyes of God and witnesses, to never be parted until death. Those who chose marriage cannot be of the same sex, and cannot marry more than one person of the opposite sex....

Catholic Churches
Five children, a little less hair and a few pounds later…
We've been happily married for 10 years. So much has happened in that time, and looking back it's been 85% wonderful and the rest becomes hazier to remember every year. I must say, I LOVE visiting the church we were married in, as it still holds that same classic beauty. We recently visited there for our nephew's baptism. Tom is his Godfather. The second cousin to join the family, just a few months younger than our little guy.
Here are some more views of the churc...

PRO - Marriage Amendment in MN
This November a Marriage Amendment will be up for voting. It is intended to protect the sanctity of Marriage between one man and one woman (which we believe is a sacrament uniting them with God.) It is a natural, life giving union that deserves our attention. <Watch the video here! It's great! Of course this stirs up so much commotion between gay liberalists and moral humans. When I received emails regarding this banter, I had to step in and say SOMETHING. I hope my opinion was correctly portrayed, in realization that this is a social issue "backed strongly by the faith community, and...

Say a prayer for baby and me
With just days until my fifth cesarean delivery, I hope you will join me in prayer. My body is tired, and I'm anxious as well as nervous. Praying for God to grace me with peace. ~ Melissa Loving God, You formed a child in a mother's womb, and have brought them both safely to the end of the pregnancy. Hold the hand of Your servant Melissa now and keep her safe; put Your own Spirit into her very breathing and into the new baby, Edward, for whom we wait with awe and hope. Guide the hands of the surgeons during the delivery, and send Your love and care through their nurses and...

A Letter to my first baby
Since My ProLife Story has been accepted with love and respect, I thought it a wonderful thing to share with you the thoughts of an unmarried young woman facing an unplanned pregnancy. This is the letter I wrote to my daughter the day I found out I was pregnant with her. I hope it will somehow reach another woman as comforting in the face of adversity. These 10 years later, I cannot believe how graced I was in hopefulness and knowledge of things to come. I have yet to read it to my daughter, but know the time will be coming very soon. January 3, 2002 To my sweetheart, Today is the...

MY Pro-Life Story

My own thought…
"Uterus: It should NOT be legal for surgeons to remove life from here, nor pharmacies to sell drugs that kill life in here, nor scientists to remove and try to make their own new life from here. If you want to do something with your body, it is your choice, whether it is a moral choice or not. But it should not be Legal for other professionals to destroy life or aid this kind of murder at any stage new or old, even at the mother's request."
More of my prolife links at end of story.

Third Trimester Nightmares
I can handle the discomforts of being 8 months pregnant. I can attempt to get a handle of my 4 young children. But what I cannot handle are these very vivid nightmares I've been having! I read that because of intense hormone changes and stresses of pregnancy, dreams tend to become more vivid and memorable after waking. Let me just say it, THIS SUCKS! Last night was the worst. I can usually justify the nightmares with the fact that my husband and I tend to snore, thus resulting in dreams of growling bears. This morning, my husband was gone and along came a dinosaur! It was enough to prompt...
