Married Life

Heavenly Father,
Through the powerful intercession of the Holy Family, grant to this local Church the many graces we need to foster, strengthen, and support faith-filled, holy marriages and holy families. May the vocation of married life, a true calling to share in your own divine and creative life, be recognized by all believers as a source of blessing and joy, and a revelation of your own divine goodness. Grant to us all the gift of courage to proclaim and defend your plan for marriage, which is the union of one man and one woman in a lifelong, exclusive relationship of loving trust, compassion, and generosity, open to the conception of children. We make our prayer through Jesus Christ, who is Lord forever and ever. Amen

Below are a few comments on marriage...
Do we separate love and life when we choose contraception? Yes. Love making without the openness to life and giving of ourselves non-marital union creates a lifestyle of using one another for sexual satisfaction. This again creates a distance between couples, causing the increased number of divorces and separations.

Those who are drawn to attraction of the same sex are called to carry their cross and live a chaste life. Those who are called to Priesthood or Sisterhood are also surrendering to a similar single, chaste lifestyle. How wonderful that you can live your chaste life as a Vocation, a calling from God, a direction. A purpose-filled sacrifice that can amount to many graces from God.

I am but a servant of God sharing with others what he wants us to know, even if we don't like it because it doesn't "fit" our lifestyles. I know many couples who have lived together without being married in the eyes of God. Marriage with only the government involved is not a valid marriage in the eyes of the Church and God. They may have a loving union, and the state may recognize that, but the Church does not no matter how long it lasts. While my faith does not support this lifestyle, I do not avoid people who choose this lifestyle or push my beliefs upon them. My comment states that I am but a quiet example of the positives of choosing a life focused on God's laws.

And I am happy that the Bible says "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." Tom does not own me, rather he and I are one, united with God through his gracious Sacrament of Marriage. Our Marriage, a conjugal union between a man and a woman and God, is unique and spiritual which the government cannot give.

If people choose another way, I do not know how God will judge that in the end - but I can only offer my knowledge of His Laws - which I choose to abide by. I want the world to abide by God's Laws, there is no question in that.  Fear the Lord, and walk in His ways.
